The Two Sisters Cabernet Sauvignon for 2017 is a wonderful reflection of the vintage in Niagara. A long warm fall created great ripeness and flavour development. Late picking allowed for exceptional concentration of flavour.
Aggressive crop management and thirty months in barrel perfected this cabernet sauvignon, immediately evident in the opaque, dark ruby colour of the wine.
The nose is wonderfully cabernet sauvignon, with a dominant black and blue fruit character of blackberries, blueberries and black currants. The wine has a strong implication of cassis, veiling to some extent the complexities of the wine. Nuances of leather, loam and black licorice round out the nose.
The palate is beautifully rich and balanced, with exceptional concentration. The dark fruits are most evident, with a polished structure of acidity, weight, tannin and alcohol. The cassis and blueberry tastes really shine. The nuances of this cabernet sauvignon surface with time on the palate, as the earthy notes transition to a dark chocolate finish.
