This Merlot was created using only fruit from the Two Sisters Estate vineyard, located within the unique Niagara River sub-appellation. The 2020 vintage was exceptional, and yields were carefully managed to ensure exceptional flavour development and varietal character. The fruit was hand harvested to optimize ripeness and flavour, then allowed to ferment slowly in gentle contact with the skins. It was aged for 30 months in Oak barriques, 70% French and 30% American. The concentration of the wine is evident in its deep ruby colour in the glass. This Merlot has an inviting nose of plums, ripe dark and blue fruit, along with a delicate earthiness and a hint of chocolate. On the palate the wine is perfectly balanced, integrated and smooth, delivering the classic supple and velvety mouthfeel only the most extraordinary Merlot can provide. The prominent fruitiness of plums, black cherries and blueberries is in perfect harmony with the prominent texture of this beautiful Merlot, transitioning into a delightfully long finish.
