The Cask Series Cabernet Franc was created exclusively for Club TSV members. This is the third vintage in the series. 2018 brought a long fall, allowing for extended hang time for better ripening and flavour development. The grapes for this wine were sourced entirely from the Estate Vineyard in the unique Niagara River sub-appellation, using only the West block of Cabernet Franc. The wine was matured for 18 months in a 5000 litre French oak cask, the same cask used for the prior two vintages of the series. The wine was not fined or filtered, and the result is a very pure expression of Cabernet Franc, with an expressive nose showing a balance of ripe dark fruit, herbs, and spice. Flavours of black cherries, blueberries, roasted red pepper and olive tapenade create an exciting complexity on the palate. This wine has a beautifully delicate and layered finish.
