The 2021 Riesling from Two Sisters Vineyards is an incredible example of the taught citrus and minerality that a vineyard on the Niagara Escarpment can offer. Winemaker Adam Pearce has captured the terroir perfectly, and created an extraordinary expression of the varietal character of the Riesling grape.
Expressive aromatics are immediately evident, as this wine shows restrained yet complex fruit notes. Layers of lemon and grapefruit citrus, green apple and melon are interlaced with a dominating minerality, along with wet stone and petrol. The palate is brilliant with citrusy acidity, which yields to layers of sweet fruit, a very subtle honeyed character, limestone and citrus zest. The delicate sweetness creates an amazing balance of flavour and texture in this wine. The finish is long, as the complexities of the wine continue to reveal themselves as the wine is enjoyed.
